- Turn on set top box.
The letter "P" will be shown inside the channel number that was locked. The cable signal filter will be shown on that channel. If anyone tries to change any locked channels, a blank screen will appear asking for the password. If the correct password is not entered, the locked channel will not be changed.
- How to view locked channels:
- Press MENU
- Select PARENTAL CONTROL
- Enter your password
- Press ENTER on your remote
- Then repeat Step 2 to lock the channel after viewing.
- Incorrect password entry or if you forget your password
You only get 3 tries to enter the password correctly. If you can not enter the password correctly within the 3 tries, then the set top box will lock all the locked channels for the entire day. If you forget your password at any time, your set top will be locked and you will not be able to change or unlock the channels under Parental Control. You will have to call your cable operator to reset your set top box.
Note: Parental Control will not prevent a Pay Per View Purchase. It will only prevent viewing of a locked channel. We strongly suggest that customers safeguard their MCV account number to prevent unauthorized Pay Per View events from being charged to their account.
